Tom Straw was a character who appeared in Season 5 M*A*S*H TV series episode "Out of Sight, Out of Mind". The part of Tom Straw was played by blind actor, entertainer, and motivational speaker Tom Sullivan.

Tom was a wounded soldier who was blinded at the front when a grenade exploded in his vicinity. He soon bonded with Hawkeye, who was also temporarily blinded after the gas stove in the nurses' tent exploded when he tried to re-light it with a match. Tom, a native of San Francisco, was a high school teacher before he was drafted into the Army. Hawkeye, who is still awaiting another visit from the ophthalmologist as to the status of his condition, offers the also blinded Tom moral support before he is shipped out to the EVAC hospital.
