About GilbertEdit

A ceasefire has been announced and everyone in the 4077th MASH is jubilant but not all is well in post-op. Nurse Margie Cutler summons Hawkeye to post-op about Gilbert's slow recovery. Hawkeye had operated on him for shrapnel wounds. He is awake but restless and there has been no improvement since the operation. Hawkeye jokes with Gilbert and asks if he is trying to "louse up the ceasefire". Gilbert cheerfully replies that it might have been better if the ceasefire had been announced before he got hit. Hawkeye gives Gilbert "a direct order" to get better otherwise he will have to operate again, "this time, sober". At this, Gilbert hurriedly replies that he is feeling better already. Hawkeye's instructions for Margie: a unit of blood and threaten patient every two hours.
