Nurse Meg Cratty was a character who appeared as a civilian nurse who ran an orphanage near the 4077th M*A*S*H* camp. She appeared in two episodes of the CBS-TV series M*A*S*H, having first appearing in the episode "The Trial of Henry Blake" in Season 2, where she was played by Hope Summers, who played Clara Edwards on another popular CBS series, The Andy Griffith Show. Hope was replaced in the role by veteran actress Ann Doran in the Season 4 episode "The Kids"
In the episode “The Trial of Henry Blake" in Season 2, Meg testifies in defense of Colonel Blake at a hearing to determine his fitness to command the 4077th before Major General Maynard Mitchell (played by Robert F. Simon), after he was accused of "aiding and abetting the enemy" by Majors Burns and Houlihan. Meg's second appearance came two seasons later in “The Kids”, when her orphanage was being shelled and everyone had to evacuate to the 4077th. This time, she was played by Ann Doran.
