Major Stanley "Stosh" Robbins, an esteemed plastic surgeon and friend of Hawkeye's who appears in the M*A*S*H TV series episode "Operation Noselift" (Season 2, episode #18) vistis the camp to give a soldier (Todd Susman) a nose job while simultaneously deceiving Frank and Hotlips. (Loretta Swit). Stuart Margolin makes his second guest appearance as "Stosh".
Hawkeye’s old friend "Stosh" is a Hollywood plastic surgeon in his civilian practice who is currently stationed at Tokyo General working with burn victims. Hawkeye calls Robbins, who professes to be busy, but at Hawkeye’s mention of a “barracuda” nurse, informs his old friend he will be at the 4077th in two hours.
Robbins arrives and is appalled with the conditions of the camp, suggesting calling in an air strike and starting from scratch. He meets the rest of the medical team and is (no surprise) most impressed with Margaret and her “tremendous jowl potential.”
"Stosh" is hell bent on meeting this “barracuda”, to the point of giving himself a headache, but Hawkeye tells him the nose operation has to come first!
After Frank and Margaret are called away, Frank to the CO's office, and Hotlips to Post Op, as a planned diversion ploy, Private Danny Baker is sneaked into O.R., where Stosh successfully operates on him.
