About Louise

In "There Is Nothing Like a Nurse", when all of the nurses are temporarily evacuated because of a possible imminent enemy attack, it leaves all of the males in camp, the surgeons, medics, and the rest of the unit, to try to compensate for the nurses absences to perform their duties in and out of O.R.; to this means, one of the things which Hawkeye, Trapper, Henry, along with with Klinger and Radar, decide to do to kill spare time, or perhaps, to have a good laugh -- is to sneak into Henry's office and watch what Hawkeye, perhaps semi-jokingly describes as "the dirtiest films of them all" -- Frank's wedding day home film.

In the film you can see a bespectacled, less-than blushing (as well as less-than enthused) bride Louise as the preacher performs the nuptials, as they both say "I do" (Hawkeye jokingly says "Frank, don't do it!"), and then, as they get into their new automobile, Louise ordering Frank to get in: the same thing happens at episode's end, with Margaret ordering Frank to get in a jeep.

She apparently comes from a rich family..the house and stocks are in her name and Frank hopes to be in her father's will. On one occasion she considered a divorce when she found out about her husband affair with Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan; Frank conned his way back into her good graces with his lies; in the states Burns has had an ongoing affair with his receptionist. It is unknown if Burns ever recovered from his mental breakdown or if the Burns ever divorced post war.
