Logan Ramsey (born March 21, 1921 - died June 26, 2000) was the actor who appeared on M*A*S*H as Colonel Lambert, a rather unscrupulous sort who offers to sell Captains Pierce and McIntyre an incubator, which the 4077th direly needs to combat illnesses of the wounded they treat, for $627, in the episode of M*A*S*H titled "The Incubator".

Largely a television actor, Logan made many guest appearances on such popular series as The Edge of Night, Mission: Impossible, Hawaii Five-O, Charlie's Angels, Quincy, M.E., Mork & Mindy, Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider and Night Court. One of his more noted guest roles was as Claudius Marcus in the episode of Star Trek:TOS titled "Bread and Circuses". He had a prominent role in Head, the 1968 feature film showcase for the pop group The Monkees, and also appeared in The Traveling Executioner (1970).
Early life[]
Born and raised largely in Long Beach, CA, Logan's father, Logan Ramsey, Sr., was a naval officer who became famous in radio history after sending the message "Air raid Pearl Harbor, this is no drill" upon the outbreak of World War II following the attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The junior Ramsey served as a naval aviator aboard the sunken Block Island's namesake carrier, USS Block Island (CVE-106). During down time, Ensign Ramsey would participate in "smokers" (entertainment programs) aboard ship. After the war he moved to New York City and studied acting under famous acting coach Lee Strasberg.[1]
Personal life/death[]
Logan was married to actress Anne Ramsey (famous for her role as "Momma" Lift in the blockbuster 1987 Danny DeVito/Billy Crystal film Throw Momma From The Train) from 1954 until her death in 1988. In 2000, Ramsey died from a heart attack in Los Angeles.
