Lawrence Joel "Larry" Block (October 30, 1942 – October 7, 2012) made a guest appearance on M*A*S*H as Sergeant Cimoli in the Season 7 episode titled "Dear Comrade". A veteran radio, TV, film and theater actor], In 1971, Block appeared on the long-running PBS childrens' series Sesame Street as Tom, who worked at Hooper's Store. Block also had a brief appearances in the films Slap Shot (1977) and Don't Say a Word (2001), alongsides Michael Douglas and Brittany Murphy.

He was a regular character on Joe Frank's radio program Work In Progress on KCRW. He was prominently featured in telephone conversations with Frank, such as those in the "Karma" series.[1]


Block died on October 7, 2012, three weeks before his 70th birthday. He is survived by his wife Jolly, children Zachary and Zoe, and brother Kenneth.[2]
