About Moody[]

In the episode "Post Op", Moody arrives with an ambulance full of wounded soldiers. Hawkeye recognizes him as a patient who passed through the MASH six months ago. He remembers Moody as someone as an angry person who "hated everybody and everything." Moody tells Hawkeye he has changed. He had been spending his time keeping himself and his buddies alive and was now "a regular Florence Nightingale."

Later in the episode, Hawkeye treats Moody for some injuries. Hawkeye asks him what happened. Moody says that he had been at Rosie's Bar when he got into a fight. Having spent all his time at the front saving the lives of his friends, he had lost his temper when some rear echelon soldiers tried to put him down. He told Hawkeye that as a kid he had always fought people who put him down because he "believed them." The soldiers at the bar had taken him by surprise but he assures Hawkeye they would not get him the next time because he has something they would never have: self-respect.
