Michael Ensign is also known for playing the hotel manager in Ghostbusters (1984). Michael played the part of Major Cass, a British unit commander, in the Season 10 M*A*S*H episode titled "'Twas the Day After Christmas".

He was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared in Irene, Curse of the Starving Class, and The Red Devil Battery Sign in the West End.

Ensign's film credits include Midnight Express, Superman, Raise the Titanic!, WarGames, Mr. Mom, Ghostbusters, Dr. Hackenstein,[1] Life Stinks, Not Another Teen Movie, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, All Of Me, House, The Couch Trip, Pink Floyd—The Wall, Children of the Corn III, Bringing Down the House, Titanic and Seabiscuit.

Michael's many television appearances include Boston Legal, Alias, Monk, JAG, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Star Trek: Enterprise, The X Files, Friends, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: The Next Generation, MacGyver, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, The A-Team, and The Dukes Of Hazzard. He appeared in the 1986 TV miniseries Dream West.

Ensign also voices Dr. Nefarious Tropy in most of the Crash Bandicoot games, with the exception of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, in which Corey Burton voiced the character. He gave his voice for Dr. Sebastian Wolfe in 2011 video game inFamous 2. In 2009 Michael was given the Distinguished Alumnus Award for Theatre from the College of Fine Arts, University of Utah, Salt Lake City Utah. Michael Ensign is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
