Lieutenant Jacobs was a nurse who made appearances in at least four early Season 2 episodes of M*A*S*H. The part of Lt. Jacobs was played by Marcia Gelman who is also one of the five running nurses during the opening sequence of the show. Early appearances of Gelman as Lt. Jacobs were uncredited. She was later credited as "nurse". Only in "Carry On, Hawkeye" was the name of the character finally revealed as "Nurse Jacobs".

About Nurse Jacobs[]

In "5 O'Clock Charlie", she places a bet with Radar at the beginning of the episode. Later she is seen with Gwen Farrell watching the performance of 5 O'clock Charlie as he attempts to bomb the ammo dump.

In "L.I.P.", Jacobs is seen with Trapper watching a movie in the mess tent at the beginning of the episode. She can also be seen in the background during the wedding scene at the end.

In "The Sniper", Jacobs is in the hospital building sheltering from the sniper fire with the rest of the MASH personnel and listening to instructions from Frank. When Frank says that Henry Blake is missing, she reports that he is trapped in the shower with Radar.

In the next episode "Carry On, Hawkeye", Jacobs enters the scrub room and leans against the wall looking unwell. There has been a flu epidemic around the camp so Henry asks her if she is okay. She replies, "I'll be all right, doctor." Henry says that is good because he himself is feeling deathly ill. Hawkeye tells Henry to "stop doing Jolson" and get some rest. He asks Jacobs to put Henry to bed and then take the next one for herself. He advises her: "Put a screen between your beds. He's most dangerous when he's on his back."
