Ed Begley, Jr. (born September 16, 1949) Begley has appeared in hundreds of films, television shows, and stage performances. He is best known for his role as Dr. Victor Ehrlich, on the NBC television series St. Elsewhere, for which he received six consecutive Emmy Award nominations, and his role as Stan Sitwell on the FOX TV series Arrested Development, as well as his most recent reality show about green living called Living With Ed on Planet Green with his wife.
Ed was born in Los Angeles to Academy Award-winning actor Ed Begley, Sr.. He spent his early chilhood years growing up in New York City, but returned to Southern California at age 14 and he attended Notre Dame High School and later the Los Angeles Valley College. Ed got into acting in 1967 in an episode of My Three Sons and has since appeared in over 270 TV shows and movies.
He is best known for his role of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on St. Elsewhere and his participation in Christopher Guest's films This is Spinal Tap!, A Mighty Wind, and Best in Show.
Ed is an avid environmentalist and practices green living with his wife Rachelle Carson and three kids. Ed was previously married to Ingrid Taylor from 1976 to 1979, he had his two oldest children, daughter Amanda (born October 3, 1977) and son Nicholas January 4, 1979 with Taylor. His current wife Rachelle gave birth to their youngest child, daughter Hayden Carson, in 2000.
