After attempting to identify the markings on the bomb Hawkeye, in agreement with Trapper and Col. Blake contancts Army HQ and then gets directed by a Hersh as to try to find any markings on the bomb which can identify who it belongs to.

When Hawkeye calls Hersh, HQ is also experiencing heavy shelling as well. Blake, who is now on the horn with him, to contact the Navy as to if they we're doing any inland target shelling, when Blake asks Hersh, "Well, why woul the Navy want to bomb us?".
